The Scholastic Store — Our flagship store for parents and consumers

We offer a comprehensive assortment of books, toys, games, media, arts and crafts, and more for kids from birth to young adult. The Scholastic Store is located online at www.scholasticstore.com and at our corporate headquarters in SoHo, NY.

The Scholastic Store carries over 3,000 books and products along with a comprehensive selection of Scholastic brands such as Clifford, Magic School Bus, I Spy, Harry Potter, and Klutz. We also offer a selection educational toys, teaching resources, and supplies. Purchase Orders are accepted.

When will my order arrive?

If you chose:

  • Standard Ground Shipping: Your order will arrive 4 to 7 business days from the day your order was placed.
  • 2nd Day Air Shipping: Your order will arrive 2 to 3 business days from the day your order is placed.
  • Next Day Air Shipping: Your order will arrive 1 to 2 business days from the day your order is placed.

If you created an account before submitting your order, you can check the Order Status area in My Account for up-to-date information on your order.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are calculated according to the weight of items, shipping destination, and how quickly you need them. For more information on our shipping charges, click here.

Can I place an order for delivery outside the United States?
The Scholastic Store can only deliver to customers residing in the United States, United States Territories, or on U.S. military bases (APO and FPO addresses.) Customers residing outside of the United States may register with us but are not able to receive items from The Scholastic Store at this time. Our store in SoHo may be able to assist you. They carry most items and in many cases, can ship them out of the country. Their number is 212-343-6187.

Can I pay by check?
Yes- shop normally online and follow the ‘Checkout Process’ to the ‘Order Review’ page. Print a copy of the ‘Order Review’ page (This page shows the Total of your items, shipping costs and applicable taxes.) Send us this page, the address you’d like the items sent to, a check for the Total and a phone number where we can contact you. If you cannot print the ‘Order Review’ page, send us a list of the products you’d like with the address you’d like the items sent to, a check for the Total and a phone number where we can contact you.

When you pay by check, you authorize us to process your payment electronically and to collect any applicable bank and collection fees for dishonored checks. Funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as the same day we receive your payment. You will not receive your check back from your financial institution; however, the transaction will appear on your bank statement. Checks not honored by your financial institution will be electronically re-presented for collection, along with any applicable bank and collection fees as permitted by applicable law.

How do I place an order using a Purchase Order from my school, association, or business?
Educational institutions and other businesses or associations may place an order with the Scholastic Store online store using a Purchase Order. To place and order, you must have an active Scholastic Account in good standing.

Once you have an account number, simply fill out the PO Cover Form, making sure to fill in ALL information. Either fax or mail a copy of the completed PO Cover Form along with your Purchase Order.

Orders are entered within 24 hours of receipt. Please note that orders without complete contact information will NOT be processed. All orders are subject to credit approval.

Payment is due within 30 days of shipment and should be remitted to the Scholastic Store Online Payment Center in Jefferson City, MO. Please do not send Scholastic Store payments to Scholastic Inc.

Purchase Orders will be shipped as ready and orders will be consolidated into the fewest possible shipments. Please note the average processing time is 7-10 business days – especially for large orders.

Businesses and Institutions receiving net 30 day payment terms are not eligible for special promotions or free shipping offers. Special email offers and promotions are only available to customers ordering online or via telephone using a credit card or check and paying in full when the order is shipped.

We reserve the right to hold your order if your account is not up to date.

Why does the Scholastic customer never have to worry about CREDIT CARD SAFETY?
The Scholastic Shopping Guarantee protects you while you shop at Scholastic.com, so that you never have to worry about credit card safety. You pay nothing if unauthorized charges are made to your card as a result of shopping at Scholastic's online stores.

More guarantee details
Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50 of unauthorized charges. If your bank does hold you liable for any of this $50, Scholastic will cover the entire liability for you, up to the full $50. Note that, in the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.

How do I cancel my order?
You can cancel your order if your order has not already been shipped. Please contact The Scholastic Store Customer Service at 1-800-770-4662 for immediate assistance.
