What dark secrets haunt this abandoned asylum?

A spooky, standalone ghost story a la John Bellairs or Mary Downing Hahn.

Neil Cady and his older sister Bree are spending the summer in a small town in the Catskills. His part-time job at a pie shop is less than exciting, but the town's not a total bust. Some of the kids he's met tell spooky stories about an abandoned psychiatric hospital in the nearby woods.

Graylock Hospital, known locally as "the Asylum," was built on an island in the center of a small lake. It fell into disrepair when it closed its doors nearly twenty years ago. Naturally, Neil has to check it out.

After his initial exploration of the dangerously derelict building, Neil starts experiencing strange things. Scary things. Why is he being haunted by the ghost of a teenage girl dressed in white? What is her connection to the Asylum? She won't stop tormenting Neil until he uncovers the truth behind what went on there...and why the Asylum was really shut down.
